What are the Christmas dance moves?

The Christmas dance is a short routine done side by side, facing a phone on a fixed stand, usually in a kitchen or living room. The joke, from @justbeinghan1’s October 22, 2026 post, is that every family Christmas dance is “all the same 3 moves”. In order, the moves are:

1. Hands at the collar, as if fixing your pajama shirt.
2. Hip sways from side to side.
3. Rolling arms in front of the chest.
4. A hip bump with your partner and a small hop.
5. A quick spin.
6. Raised fists, then a clap to finish.

The original clips run about 14 seconds. Most are two or three people; in the top 30 posts on the sound page on November 8, 2026, we did not see a solo or pet version.

What song is the Christmas dance?

The Christmas dance song is an “original sound” by DJ Izzy Duzzit (@djizzyduzzit on TikTok), a 23-second remix he posted on December 4, 2025 and captioned “Deck the Halls x Blow the Whistle”. TikTok marks the sound as copyrighted. It was used before this year, but the dance only took off with it on November 1, 2026. Listen on the TikTok sound page. On November 8, 2026 TikTok listed 31,900 videos using it. The #christmasdance hashtag is much bigger, with 73,430 videos, but it is older than this trend and covers every kind of Christmas dance.

How people remix the Christmas dance

• Two friends side by side, played as a joke about every Christmas dance being the same.
• Mother and daughter, then a trio when mom or grandma joins.
• Matching Christmas pajamas in the family kitchen.
• Whole families, sometimes with a grandchild. This site does not accept photos of children.
• Pets: two cats dancing on an office Christmas party stage.

A CapCut template for the Christmas dance appeared on November 5, 2026; by November 8 it had been used 126 times. We have not tested it. See how it compares in Best Christmas dance AI video generators.

Is the Christmas dance real or AI?

The Christmas dance started with people filming themselves at home, and most of the big posts are creators dancing in their own kitchens and living rooms. AI versions exist too: some put pets on a party stage, and sites like ours put your photos into the dance. We do not judge whether any single third-party clip is real. Every video made on this site is AI-generated and should be shared as AI.

How to check a Christmas dance clip yourself

1. Open the clip on TikTok and check the account: the early posts come from real family and creator accounts.
2. Look for TikTok’s AI-generated label or a caption that names an AI tool.
3. Tap the sound: the trend uses DJ Izzy Duzzit’s original sound, so a different song usually means a different dance.
4. Watch the hands and the spin: AI clips often blur fingers or change a face mid-turn.
